What is LocalSound?
LocalSound is a platform—on web and mobile—that helps you discover local music, comedy, and other live performances in your area.
Do I need an account to browse events?
No. Anyone can browse public events. To purchase tickets, favorite or follow, or create/manage events, you must log in or sign up.
What payment processor does LocalSound use?
We use Stripe to handle all ticket checkout securely.
What happens if I follow an external link?
LocalSound isn’t responsible for the content or transactions on external sites. Any ticket purchases or previews via external links are governed by those sites’ terms.
Where can I find your Privacy Policy or contact support?
Click “Privacy Policy” or “Contact” in the site header or footer to view our policy or send us a message.
How-to guides
How do I change my search location?
On the Home Screen you should see a "Change City" button. You can either share your current location or change the location you are searching manually here.
How do I add friends?
Navigate to the Discover Screen from the top header. From here, you can search by friends via their username or full name if they shared that information with us! Case sensitive! Click on the user you want to add, on their profile you should see a button to send a friend request!
How do I create an account to post my events?
Click on your user profile in the header. From there you can click "Edit Account" and will see a button to "+Add your artist, venue, or group."
How do I switch to my artist/venue/group account?
If you have an account that you post events from that was approved, you should see a user-plus icon in the header next to the home button that drops down to a list of your accounts you can navigate to.
How do I add or edit an event?
After switching into an entity account, click the Add Event button at bottom-right, or click an existing event to edit it.
How can I purchase tickets?
On an event page, click “Purchase Tickets,” select ticket types and quantities, review fees, and complete checkout via Stripe.
How do I invite friends?
Click “Invite Friends” on the event page, then pick from your friends list to send invitations.
How do I favorite an event?
Click the star icon (⭐️) on any event to add it to “Favorites” in your profile for easy access to upcoming shows.
How do I follow a band, venue, festival, or comic?
On a profile page, click the heart icon (❤️) to follow that entity and see their upcoming events in your feed.
How do I report an issue?
Visit the Contact Us page and be as detailed as possible.
